Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Pinway iOS app and the pinway.app website (together, the “Service”), operated by Optimize Inc. (“Optimize”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the Service, you agree to them.

What Pinway is

Pinway lets you share links — social posts, map links, web pages — and turns the publicly available content behind them into saved places, organized into lists and maps you can keep private or share with others. Place details (ratings, hours, photos, map data) come from third-party sources, primarily Google Maps.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pinway. Keep your password safe: you’re responsible for activity on your account. Give us accurate information and one account per person, please.

Your content

The links you share, the notes you write, and the photos you upload remain yours. You give us the limited license we need to operate the Service: to fetch, process, store, and display that content to you and — for places you add to a shared list — to the members of that list. Only share links and content you’re allowed to share.

Shared lists

If you join a shared list, other members will see the places you add there, the posts they came from, whether they’re favorited or booked, and your public profile (first name, username, photo). List owners can remove places from their list and remove members. If you leave a list, places you contributed leave with you. If you delete your account, places you added to a list someone else can still see stay in that list without your name or personal details, and a shared list you own is handed to another member.

Third-party content and platforms

Pinway reads publicly available content from links you provide. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, Google, or Apple. Content belongs to its creators and platforms; Pinway shows you place information with attribution where required. Place details can be wrong or out of date — a restaurant’s hours, prices, or existence can change. Always double-check before you travel or book; Pinway isn’t responsible for decisions made on the basis of saved place data.

Acceptable use

• Don’t use the Service to infringe anyone’s rights or break any law.
• Don’t scrape, probe, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service.
• Don’t submit content that is unlawful, harmful, or that you don’t have the right to share.
• Don’t use the Service to build a competing dataset or service.

Early access

Pinway is in pre-release. Waitlist position doesn’t guarantee access, features may change or be removed, and data created during a beta may be reset if we have to. We’ll tell you before it happens.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of place information. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Optimize will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US $50.

Ending things

You can stop using Pinway at any time, and delete your account yourself from the Profile tab in the app (Delete account). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the Service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content license for shared copies you left behind, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; if a change is significant, we’ll update the date above and let you know. Using the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Optimize Inc.’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still stands.
